Behavioral studies indicate that individuals perceive a comfortable
distance for personal interaction and nonverbally define this as
personal space. The acceptable breadth of personal space varies
between cultures, and because a violation of this personal space
can have seriously adverse effects on communication, it is important
that you learn to respect the distance zones that are maintained
by Germans.
